Call Barring Codes

The Orange network has various codes that allow call barring of various descriptions. Listed below are the ones known to work.

These are of the format:-

*[type]*[network_password]*[service]# to switch bar on

#[type]*[network_password]*[service]# to switch bar off

*#[type]# to check the status

Where [type] can be

33 All outgoing calls*

331 Outgoing international calls*

35 Incoming calls*

(And when roaming)

351 Incoming calls when roaming*

332 Outgoing international calls except to home country*

* (Note To ACTIVATE these bars you seem to have to have any diverts (21,61,62 & 67) to voicemail switched off!! - I don't know why)

[network_password] is the code you define when you change your network password. By default at switch on it is '1111' - the code to change your network password is

**03*330*[old_network_password]*[new_network_password]*[new_network_password]#

and [service] can be

11 (Line 1)

13 (Fax)

16 (SMS) (See Note)

25 (Data)

89 (Line 2 -Auxiliary telephone)

Note:- It is possible to bar incoming SMS. However different message centres handle this command differently. Some foreign message centres will queue up the messages & deliver them when the bar is lifted (assuming they haven't expired). However, the Orange SMC (and some some foreign ones) discard them - hence you NEVER get the message so be warned!
